Art and Architecture Collections (Kislak Center)

At the University of Pennsylvania, holdings relating to art and architecture may be found in the Anne and Jerome Fisher Fine Arts Library; the Architectural Archives of the University of Pennsylvania; the University Archives and Records Center; and in the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts.

Gotham Book Mart Collection

The Gotham Book Mart was a vital bookstore in the New York literary scene from its creation in 1920 to its closing in 2006. In 2008, after the closure of the bookstore, the Penn Libraries received the remaining stock of books, along with papers and other items from this landmark institution.

The Penn Libraries collects a variety of Japanese rare materials, including but not limited to books, periodicals, scrapbooks, limited-circulation newspapers, manuscripts, photographs, and art prints.

Jean-François Vilain and Roger S. Wieck Collection of Private Presses, Ephemera, & Related References

The Vilain-Wieck Collection comprises several thousand books produced by fine and private presses, mainly in America, from the nineteenth century up to the present. Included are major holdings of famous presses including Mosher and Roycroft from the turn of the twentieth century, works by printers known and unknown from North America over the twentieth century, and a vast range of contemporary fine printing, private press, and artists' books from the contemporary era.
