In 1991 The Gemmill Family Book Fund was endowed to purchase books or other materials on the theory or practice of neoclassical architecture in the United States or related architectural or decorative arts topics for the Fine Arts Library at Penn.

Over the years a number of important resources have been acquired through the fund, including Henry Aldrich, Elementa architecturae civilis ad Vitruvii verterumque disciplinam,1789, William Salmon, Palladio Londinensis, 1734, and Martino Bassi, Dispareri in materia d'architettura,1572.
