Established in 1970 by the Delta Chapter, the Phi Beta Kappa Library Trust Fund has grown five-fold. Unrestricted funds such as this are particularly valuable to the Library, because they provide resources for the acquisition of scholarly material in any field. Penn is a dynamic community of scholars. As this community grows and changes, the research materials needed by faculty and students also grows and changes. The Phi Beta Kappa fund is valuable in helping to provide these essential new resources.

A core part of Phi Beta Kappa's mission is to foster and promote the liberal arts and sciences, and the Delta Chapter's fund at the Penn Library will continue to do just that for future scholars at Penn.
