Notable Collections

The Libraries work with select local bookstores to collect items that were were written or published locally, that represent the books marketed/sold to specific local communities, or that reflect the interests of local cooperative centers with goals aligned with those of the University.

Penn Libraries holds more than 3,000 manuscripts from South Asia, making it one of the largest collections of its kind in the Americas.

Over 2,500 original drawings, notebooks and scrapbooks, correspondence, books, posters, and other materials by the artist William Steig (1907-2003).
