The Vanderbilt Television News Archive has been recording network television news broadcasts since August 5, 1968. The VTNA preserves these broadcast recordings, breaking them into individual segments and writing annotations for each segment. Through the Penn Libraries’ sponsoring membership, Penn readers may search the VTNA database and compile clip lists from more than 1.1 million segments of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and Fox News regularly scheduled national newscasts and special news reports ... including commercials! For NBC and CNN recorded segments, our sponsoring membership provides videostreams that may be viewed immediately. Recorded segments, either whole programs or compilations of clips from several programs from other networks may be purchased by Penn readers at a substantial discount.
