World, Folk and Ethnic Music

By providing access through acquisition or subscription to sound recordings from producers such as Smithsonian Folkways, ARC Music Productions, and Buda Musique, thousands of sound recordings featuring world, folk and ethnic music are available through the Penn Libraries.  Coverage includes music performed and produced around the world, global music performed in the United States, and music that is emblematic of American ethnic minority groups.

Recent recordings available at the Library include:

CDs are available for check out at the Ormandy Music Center or can be requested from LIBRA (via Request function in Franklin).  Some streaming audio files that are available aren't listed in the Franklin catalog but can be found through Alexander Street Press (Smithsonian Global) or databases.
